Two free days to make sure you're not the last to know. 15% of Malaysian adults have chronic kidney disease. Only 5% of them know it. Over two free mornings, a senior renal pharmacist who helped write Malaysia's national CKD guideline shows you exactly how to check, protect and take charge of your kidney health — in plain English, for you and the people you love.
Takes under a minute. No cost, no catch.
Until Day 1 begins · Saturday 19 September, 10:00 AM (GMT+8)
Trusted by hospitals, institutions and partners across Malaysia
Kidneys don't warn you. There's no pain, no obvious signal, no moment where your body tells you something is wrong. They simply carry on quietly — until one day the damage is far enough along that the options narrow to dialysis or transplant.
That's not a rare tragedy. In Malaysia, it's the normal path.
The hopeful part: caught early, chronic kidney disease can be slowed, managed, and in many cases prevented from ever reaching that point. The medicine to do it already exists and is already in the national guidelines. What's missing is that almost nobody knows to look.
That's the entire reason this summit exists.
About 1 in 6 Malaysian adults
has chronic kidney disease.
More common than you think — and far quieter than you'd expect.

Most of what Malaysians read about kidney health online is either frightening, wrong, or trying to sell them something.
This summit is the opposite. It's led by a senior renal pharmacist who sits on the committee writing Malaysia's national CKD Clinical Practice Guideline — the same document your doctor's treatment decisions are based on. What you'll hear over these two days is that guidance, translated out of clinical language and into steps you can actually take on Monday morning.
Most people assume a normal blood test means healthy kidneys. It doesn't. You'll learn the two specific tests that reveal damage long before symptoms — and exactly how to ask your doctor for them.
eGFR, urine protein, blood pressure, HbA1c — what each one is telling you, which ranges matter, and when a result is worth acting on rather than worrying about.
Common painkillers. Traditional remedies. Health supplements bought with the best intentions. You'll learn which ones carry real risk, and what to ask before taking anything new.
Practical Malaysian food guidance. What genuinely matters for kidney protection, what's been overstated, and how to eat well when you're managing diabetes and kidney risk at the same time.
The claims that spread fastest in family WhatsApp groups — checked against the actual evidence, one by one.
For caregivers: how to help effectively, what to watch for, what to ask at appointments — and how to look after yourself while you do it.
Six speakers across two days. Two confirmed so far — the rest are being announced.

For 18 years, Soo Wen has worked at the front line of kidney care in Malaysian hospitals — in the dialysis units, the medication therapy clinics, and the committee rooms where national treatment standards are written. He is a committee member for Malaysia's Clinical Practice Guideline on the Management of Chronic Kidney Disease (2nd Edition) under the Ministry of Health, and Chief Editor of the Renal Pharmacy Handbook, now in its third edition.
He also organised the Kidney Health Live Virtual Summit in 2024 — the event this summit continues.
But especially if you're one of these three.
If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, a family history of kidney disease, or you're over 50 — you're in the group that should be checking. Most people in this group have never had their kidneys properly assessed.
You've had the conversation with your doctor and left with more questions than answers. Two days to fill in what the ten-minute appointment couldn't.
You're the one managing the medications, the appointments, and the diet. This gives you the understanding to do it with confidence instead of guesswork.

People with CKD5 does not mean that you will need dialysis. With proper diet management and medication, you can postpone the dialysis.
I learnt more about the diet which a dialysis patient can take. It has helped clear my misconceptions on what food a patient can or cannot take.
Great sharing about the CKD, especially the myth-busting session by the consultants — eye-opening and practically useful for patients and caregivers alike.
I learnt about the medications and herbal remedies that are suitable and unsuitable for patients with kidney problems — something every CKD patient needs to know.
Importance of screening urine protein even if urea/creatinine is within normal range for early detection.

Grounded in the Malaysian MOH CKD Clinical Practice Guideline and KDIGO 2024. Organised by Scalendo.
Yes. Both days are completely free to attend — no payment, no card details, no obligation. This is a public education initiative, and the goal is simply to get accurate kidney health information to more Malaysians. After you register you'll be shown an optional upgrade with additional materials. It's entirely optional — the summit itself is free either way.
No — and most attendees won't. The summit is built for anyone who wants to understand their kidney health before there's a problem, as well as for people already diagnosed and the families supporting them.
Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (GMT+8) both days. There's a short break mid-session each day.
Entirely online. You'll get a joining link by email after registering — watch from your phone, tablet, or computer, anywhere you are.
Sessions are conducted in English, with Chinese-language support so a bilingual audience can follow comfortably.
You can — but we'd strongly encourage you to join both. The two days are built as a pair: day one teaches you how to recognise and check for kidney trouble, and day two shows you what to actually do about it. Attending only one leaves you with half the picture, and the live Q&A on each day covers different ground. Your registration already covers both, so there's nothing extra to do.
The live sessions are free to attend. Recordings and additional materials are available through the optional upgrade offered after you register.
Yes — both days end with a live Q&A, and you'll be able to submit questions throughout.
No. The summit is general education and awareness. It doesn't replace personalised medical advice — always speak to your own doctor about your individual condition.
Fifteen percent of Malaysian adults have kidney disease. Ninety-five percent of them don't know. Two free mornings is a small price for finding out which side of that number you're on.
